About Us

Last updated: November 4, 2025

Hi! We built psigtopsia.com to remove confusion between gauge pressure (PSIG) and absolute pressure (PSIA). Too many calculators ignore the role of atmospheric pressure (Patm) or hide the math. Ours makes it explicit and fast.

What the tool does

  • Two-way PSIG ↔ PSIA conversion with the clear relationship PSIA = PSIG + Patm.
  • Adjustable Patm with quick presets (sea level ≈14.6959 psi, standard 1 atm = 14.7 psi, high-altitude ≈12.2 psi) or your own custom value.
  • Precision control to suit classroom, shop-floor, or field work.
  • Handy actions: copy results, clear inputs, and reset.

Principles we care about

  • Accuracy first: the math and assumptions are obvious and documented.
  • Privacy by default: no account is required to use the calculator.
  • Speed & clarity: a clean UI that works well on mid-range phones.
  • Accessibility: keyboard-friendly inputs and readable typography.

Who uses it

Students, technicians, and engineers across HVAC, compressed air, hydraulics, and general maintenance—anywhere you need to relate gauge readings to absolute pressure.

Roadmap

  • More units (bar, kPa, Pa) and PSIA↔PSIG quick tables.
  • Altitude-aware helpers for estimating Patm.
  • Dark mode and additional export/share options.
